Satelight by Jaemin Jaeminlee

The designer Jaemin Jaeminlee imagined a bedside lamp he named “Satelight” because of its form. Indeed, the base of the light is shaped like a warhead. The different polishings of the pedestal and the lampshade distort the diffusion of light depending on the places where it stands. The red cordon also emerges, by its color of course, but also by its role of switch as pulling it allows to turn off the light. Lastly, let’s notice Satelight is equipped with LED bulbs for a better adaptation to the environment. A seducing project images of which you can discover here after.

Kangura by Mussi

The designer Gio Mussi imagined for the family firm an armchair convertible to a lounge-chair. Named Kangura, the piece perfectly adapts to the mood of the user who benefits from a seat both comfortable and relaxing. Opening or closing the lower part of Kangura allows to tun it into a lounge-chair. Likewise, a simple pressure allows to lean the back. The model is made on a patented Mussi mechanism. Next to this, elastic strips ensure the support of the body while polyurethane foam covered with leather or fabrics (several colors available) softens the seating. Lastly, a pivoting steel frame serves as basis to the chair. A brilliant and elegant idea you can discover here after with images.

Aston Martin CC100 Speedster Concept

To celebrate its centenary , the British car-manufacturer Aston Martin developed and introduced the CC100 Speedster Concept, a sport coupé inspired by the legendary DBR1. The speedster thus logically made its first laps during the Nürburgring’s 24h in Germany, on the circuit that made, at the end of the 50′s, the glory of the DB1. Powered by a v12 6l, the CC100 can reach 100km/h in 4 seconds and has a top speed of 291km/h. This unique model demonstrates all the flexibility and the know-how of Aston Martin as the stable created the concept in less than 6 months!

Toyota 2000GT (1967)

Crafted exclusively at 351 pieces between 1967 and 1970, the Toyota 2000GT is considered as the best asian coupe-sport. Developed with Yamaha, it is equipped with a 2000cc (6 cylinders) engine of 150hp. Designed at the time to compete with the Jaguar E Type, it will have established Toyota as a solid value of the cars manufacturing. The model here presented is one of the 62 left-hands ever produced. It has just been auctioned for $1,155,000. A price that turns it into the most expensive Japanese car of the history.

Lina Bo Bardi’s Bowl Chair by Arper

The Italian firm Arper closely worked with the Instituto Bardi to produce a limited edition of Lina Bo Bardi’s Bowl Chair. Created in 1951, the Bowl Chair has only been crafted into two pieces conserved in São Paulo’s residence of the famous designer. Arper thus referred to these two models as to sketches given by the Instituto Bardi to recreate the Bowl Chair while adapting it to the modern production techniques. The house so developed a series that propose fabrics variations reflecting the philosophy and the cultural dynamism of Brazil and Italy. No marketing date has been given yet but a dedicated website is already online and will relay any update of the project.

Me.We by Jean-Marie Massaud for Toyota

The Japanese firm Toyota hired the French designer Jean-Marie Massaud to develop a concept of electric car. Named “Me.We”, the model aims to reconcile the need of mobility and the environment stakes. With that in mind, Jean-Marie Massaud created a light vehicle (less than 750kg) thanks to an aluminum structure and a polypropylene body. Next to this, the Frenchman used farming bamboo for the roof and the floor.

Lots of colors and patterns are proposed to the client who can therefore customize his car. The Me.We is powered by four electric engines placed in the wheels. No air conditioning or heating, what allows to save the batteries, but the glasses go down and the seats are equipped with warming pumps. Lastly, with its structure, the model combines the features of a city car and a break/pick-up properties: the rear seat folds up and the gate opens, extending in such a way the restricted cockpit. The philosophy that led to this concept car is already seen in the productions costs and the final price as, according to Toyota, the Me.We could be marketed from 15000€.

Aava Collection by Antti Kotilainen for Arper

The Finnish creator Antti Kotilainen imagined for the firm Arper a range of wooden chairs named the Aava Collection and presented during the last Milan Design Week. The models included are characterized by the simplicity of their forms. A soberness that highlights their elegant silhouette. Different paintings and a layer of varnish bring, despite the use of an industrial wood, warmth and character to the object. The collection also offers several sets of legs that allow an easy pileup. Together; these features ensure to the Aava Collection a use adapted to any space as the chair will find a place in a residential interior or a professional environment.

Sandwichbikes by Basten Leijh

Inspired by the “Do It Yourself” and Ikea’s philosophy, the Dutch designer Basten Leijh created a mountable bike the pieces of which are sent in a postal box. Named “The Sandwich Bike”, it is based on a plywood frame and sets of cylinders which ensure solidity and aesthetics. The assembling does not require any particular skills. To cover Basten Leijh’s words: if you can make a sandwich, you will certainly be able to build a sandwichbike! The model will be marketed in the course of the current year. Atlantic Collection by José A. for Gandia-Blasco

After the Tropez Collection, here is Atlantic, one of the new Gandía-Blasco‘s ranges. Designed by José A. Gandía-Blasco himself, it is based on the use of NOWOOD, a composite of natural fibers and plastic 100% recyclable exclusive to the Spanish firm, to propose outdoor furniture. The collection so includes long chairs, tables, stools or modular sofas and Ottomans. It allies the simplicity of the lines, peculiar to Gandía-Blasco, and robust materials such as aluminum. An association that ensures both elegant pieces and a high resistance to time and weather changes.

Martone Cycling Co

The firm Martone Cycling Co proposes a collection of city bikes characterized by a red chain. The two models (men and women) are available in 5 colors: black, white, red, silver and gold. The bicycle is made of a steel frame that allows to limit the total weight to approximatively 12 kg. Each bike is equipped with a 44x32x15cm basket. Particularity of the brand, Martone offers a unique derailleur system (SRAM Hub) that adpats to the speed. In such a way, depending on push-pull force, the bike changes of pinion. The Martone range is sold 900€ on the eshop of the firm (USA) or on Colette (Paris).
