Born in 1961 in Saint-Céré, Marc Petit is a main actor of French contemporary sculpture. Austere and emaciated at first sight, his bronzes though emerge from their deformity to inspire tenderness in the viewer. A counterpoint allowing to overcome the plastic imperfection and inviting anyone to build a personal narration inevitably linked to the being.

Awarded by the France and Charles Oulmont Foundations, Marc Petit presented his works in France, Spain, Belgium or still Germany. A Marc Petit Museum opened in Ajaccio in 2008 and a space is dedicated to him in Limoges (Galerie Artst). The Salle St Esprit of Valbonne (Alpes Maritimes – France) currently, and until September 2,  hosts the exhibition “Marc Petit – Sculptor of Humanity”.
