Romy Schneider @ Espace Landowski
After the tribute to Brigitte Bardot, the Espace Landowski (France) hosts, since November 4th, an exhibition dedicated to another legend of the cinema, Romy Schneider. The retrospective so pursues the “Cinema & Society” cycle, driven jointly by the Boulogne-Bilancourt town and the agency Akouna to illustrate the link between star and time. A lap chronologically organized, that parallels the cinematographic choices of the actress and her life. The visitor will so successively discover pictures, posters, articles, jewels, finery and other objects that belonged to her, costumes, scripts or other pieces informing the Schneider myth. Human and material testimonies spread into eight thematic rooms.

The walk starts with “La Fille et sa Mère” (The daughter and her Mother) where the curator Jean-Pierre Lavoignat, covers the theatrical filiation of the Schneider. The second and third spaces, respectively called “Le Sacre et la Légende” (The coronation and the legend) and “L’Amour et la France” (The Love and France), take interest on the first successes of the actress. Then comes “L’Enfer” entirely devoted to the amazing and unfinished enterprise of Clouzot. “Rêves d’Hollywood et d’Allemagne” (Dreams about Hollywood and Germany) present the american episode, the marriage, the motherhood. A chapter named “Une Femme Française” (A French Women) focus on the meeting with Claude Sautet, while “L’Histoire et La Mort en Face” (The History and the Faced Death) is based on the historic productions (Le Vieux Fusil, Le Train, Une femme à sa Fenêtre,…) and the roles as heart-rending as grueling. Lastly, “Romy Eternelle” (Eternal Romy) ends the scenography tributing the muse. A moving exhibition you can see until February 26th.
